Poyntzpass Baptist Church has served Poyntzpass Village and the neighbouring areas since 1894. It was originally based in a building on Blackbridge Road; however, in 2014, the church moved into a new, purpose-built facility just a few hundred yards away on Railway Street, where it remains today.
Our church is evangelical, and we are committed to Christ's Great Commission, both at home and abroad. The church is premillennial, dispensational, and non-charismatic in doctrine. It operates a range of ministries supporting a diverse range of needs within the community, from Mums and Tots for pre-schoolers to “Young at Heart” Coffee Morning for the older members of the community and every age group in between.
We are a Christ-centered fellowship, where the Word of God is central. We emphasise expository Bible teaching in our meetings, trying to show the relevance of God's Word for today as well as challenging believers in their call to be Christ's disciples. Our congregation consists of people from a broad range of ages and backgrounds.

Mission Statement
Our church exists to fulfil five Scriptural purposes based on Acts 2:41-47.
-
To magnify the Name of Jesus - the early church “Praised God.”
-
To reach out with the Gospel - “the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
-
To encourage one another - “They continued in fellowship... and all that believed were together... and they did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”
-
To build believers up in the faith - “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine.”
-
To equip believers to serve one another - “And [they] sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.”

Statement of Faith
-
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice.
-
We believe the Authorised Version is the most accurate translation of the Scriptures.
-
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, that He is both the Son of God and God the Son; that His life was sinless; that He died for us; arose from the dead the third day and has ascended into Heaven.
-
We believe that man was created in the image of God in keeping with the Genesis account; that he sinned and incurred not only physical death; but also spiritual death which is separation from God.
-
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith without works of any kind.We believe in the eternal security and preservation of every true believer.
-
We believe in the eternal existence of the soul, that at death, the soul of the believer goes to heaven and the soul of the unbeliever goes to hell into eternal torment.
-
We believe in the second coming of Christ. that His coming will be bodily and imminent; that He will first gather out of the world those who believe on Him and that He will later physically return to the earth to rule and reign as King for one thousand years.
